Today's decklist: Iron Man, Master of Machines leading an Izzet (Blue/Red) artifact-voltron build, estimated at roughly $60-90 to assemble (excluding the commander itself).

The game plan

Iron Man gets +1/+0 for each other artifact you control — stack ten artifacts and he's an 11/4 flier with vigilance; fifteen and he's a 16/4 one-shot straight from the command zone. Whenever he attacks, if any artifact entered the battlefield under your control that turn, you draw a card. The whole deck is built to make sure something — a Thopter token, a Treasure, a mana rock — enters every single turn to keep that draw engine running.

Cranial Plating is the card that makes the scaling absurd: it gives the equipped creature another +1/+0 per artifact on top of Iron Man's own ability, so the same ten artifacts that make him an 11/4 now make him a 21/4.

Suiting up

The equipment package doubles as flavor and function. Argentum Armor equips for free off Tony Stark // The Invincible Iron Man's flipped back face and destroys a permanent every time he connects. Darksteel Plate makes him indestructible through board wipes. Swiftfoot Boots gives haste and hexproof the turn he's cast. Colossus Hammer's +10/+10 gets cheated into play cheaply with Foundry Inspector and Etherium Sculptor knocking the cost down.

JARVIS keeps the cards flowing

Padeem, Consul of Innovation gives the whole artifact board hexproof and draws a card each upkeep once you control the priciest artifact in play. Riddlesmith and Thoughtcast turn casting artifacts into filtering and cheap draw. Skullclamp turns any spare 1/1 Thopter into two fresh cards.

The drone army

Sai, Master Thopterist, Saheeli, Sublime Artificer, Loyal Apprentice, Thopter Spy Network, and Efficient Construction all produce free 1/1 flying Thopters — each one is an artifact entering the battlefield, growing Iron Man and triggering his attack-draw ability turn after turn.

Win conditions

  1. Iron Man Voltron — stack 10-15 artifacts and swing for lethal in the air.
  2. Rise and Shine (overloaded) turns every artifact you control, including artifact lands, into a 4/4 attacker.
  3. Mechanized Production — copy an enchanted token each upkeep; 8 copies of the same token wins outright.
  4. Darksteel Reactor — indestructible, ticks up a charge counter each upkeep; 20 counters wins.
  5. Echo Storm — copy your best artifact once per artifact you control for a mass-production finish.
